The Prabodhana Cultural Festival 2024-2025, organised by the Catechetical Office of the Mavelikkara Diocese, unfolded with great devotion and enthusiasm at the Infant Jesus Central School in Thuvayoor. The day’s events began at 8:30 am, uniting six ecclesiastical districts for a spirited series of competitions.
The Kollam district took first place in the overall category, Mavelikkara secured second place, and Kattanam earned third.
Writing Competition Highlights
The writing competition saw Kollam district once again emerge in first place, with Puthur and Kadampanad taking second and third positions respectively. Prabodhana extended warm congratulations to all the children and teachers who participated, celebrating their dedication and creativity.
Words of Gratitude from Prabodhana
Prabodhana expressed heartfelt gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ for blessing the day with favourable weather, making the event’s success possible. Prabodhana also offered thanks to His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joshua Mor Ignathios for his unwavering support and guidance, which continue to inspire the mission and activities of Prabodhana.
The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Dr. Stephen Kulathumkarott, whose presence and blessings enriched the day’s concluding moments. Additionally, the inaugural address by Rev. Fr. Vijayanand Idayilaveettil, District Vicar of Kadampanad, set a tone of prayer and encouragement that resonated throughout the day.
Acknowledgements
Prabodhana extended special thanks to all clergy in attendance, with particular recognition for the district directors—Rev. Fr. Jobin Kamechamparampil, Rev. Fr. Jithil Thottathil, Rev. Fr. Aneesh Puthanpurayil, Rev. Fr. Thomas Palavila, Rev. Fr. John Maruthoor, and Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedath—whose active roles and support were invaluable.
Gratitude was further expressed to the Diocesan Animator, the Secretary, and the Sisters who served as animators. The team also acknowledged the event judges, as well as Rev. Fr. Jobin Pulivilayil, Director of Infant Jesus Central School, for generously providing the venue and facilitating the event’s seamless execution.
Prabodhana also extended thanks to the district secretaries, executive members, primary teachers, educators, parents, and the many children who brought their energy and talent, making the event a truly memorable experience.
