On Saturday, 14 June 2025, the Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Parassala witnessed a luminous gathering of Sunday School teachers for Rabbouni 2025 at VPS Malankara Higher Secondary School, Venganoor. The morning air brimmed with anticipation as registrations commenced promptly at 9:00 AM, organised efficiently across five counters – each representing one of the eparchy’s ecclesiastical districts – reflecting the unity and order of this vibrant community.
At 9:30 AM, the formal assembly opened with a heartfelt prayer hymn tenderly led by the Balaramapuram Ecclesiastical District. This was followed by an inspiring reading from the Holy Scriptures by Annie Augustine of Kanjirakulam parish. Executive Member Manivarnan’s solemn prayer set a reverent tone that echoed throughout the day.
Presiding over the inaugural gathering, Rev. Fr. Varghese Naduthala, the Eparchial Sunday School Director, extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the assembly. The morning unfolded into a series of enriching training sessions tailored to the diverse needs of various class levels. These sessions were guided by devoted priests, religious sisters, and veteran educators from across the eparchy, who generously shared their wisdom, methods, and spiritual insights.
The culmination of the day arrived at 2:30 PM with the presence of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mor Eusebius, Bishop of Parassala, who inaugurated the concluding session. In his moving address, His Excellency reminded the teachers, “You are the trusted hands entrusted with passing the light of faith to the next generation. Let this sacred responsibility be fulfilled with love, dedication, and great care.”
Fr. Varghese Naduthala chaired the valedictory proceedings, where Vincent P, Sunday School Secretary, offered a warm welcome. The assembly also received special messages of encouragement from Fr. Samuel Puthenpurackal, Director of the Balaramapuram Ecclesiastical District, Sr. Shalom Maria, the Eparchial Animator, and other dignitaries.
With over a thousand Sunday School teachers participating alongside esteemed clergy and religious sisters, Rabbouni 2025 was a profound celebration of faith, fellowship, and dedication to the sacred task of nurturing young hearts in the Church’s embrace.
The day closed with a sincere vote of thanks from Executive Member Shaji Malayil, expressing gratitude for the collective spirit and shared commitment that marked this inspiring occasion.
