Bahrain Syro-Malankara Catholic Community Celebrates Faith Formation Day

Manama, Bahrain, January 25, 2024 – The Bahrain Syro-Malankara Catholic Community celebrated an inspiring Faith Formation Day on the evening of January 25 at the Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, located in Sacred Heart Church, Manama. This event marked a significant occasion for the community, emphasizing the importance of faith education and spiritual growth.

The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jacob Kalluvila, the Assistant Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church and the Spiritual Director of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Community in Bahrain. His leadership and guidance were pivotal in orchestrating this spiritually enriching event.

The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Roy Varughese, the Sunday School Headmaster, setting a tone of warm hospitality and community spirit. The program was officially inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Antony, the Assistant Vicar of Sacred Heart Church, who underscored the significance of faith formation in today’s world.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the annual report for the academic year 2023-2024 by Mrs. Vimala Thomas. This report detailed the achievements and activities of the past year, reflecting the community’s dedication to faith-based education and the holistic development of its members.

The Bahrain Malayalee Catholic Community Coordinator, Mr. Jose Joseph, and student representative Ria Ann Varghese extended their greetings and congratulations to the community, expressing gratitude for the collective efforts in nurturing the faith among the young.

The event also featured a variety of cultural programs performed by the Sunday School children, showcasing their talents and the vibrant cultural heritage of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Community. These performances added a celebratory atmosphere to the gathering, demonstrating the joy and creativity inherent in the community’s youth.

The closing remarks were made by Mr. Joseph George, who expressed heartfelt thanks to all the participants, organizers, and attendees for making the Faith Formation Day a memorable and successful event.
