On 9 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church gathered once again to solemnly observe the ninth day of the 15-day period honouring the 72nd memorial feast and the centennial anniversary of the episcopal consecration of the venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios.
The celebration was marked by the Holy Qurbono offered by the Right Reverend Father Jacob Olickal, Corepiscopa and Vicar General of the Bathery Diocese. With reverence and warmth, he guided the faithful through the sacred mysteries.
Father Jacob’s homily, titled “A Life Filled with Grace — In the Vision of Venerable Mar Ivanios”, invited the faithful to reflect deeply on the abundant grace that characterised the life of our venerable father. He emphasised how the grace bestowed upon Mar Ivanios is a model and source of inspiration for living a life grounded in divine mercy and faithful service.
Following the Holy Qurbono, the faithful assembled at the tomb of Venerable Mar Ivanios, where Corepiscopa Jacob Olickal led a solemn incense prayer, a symbol of the Church’s unity in gratitude and supplication.
As the commemoration draws nearer to its conclusion, the Church remains rooted in the legacy of Mar Ivanios, finding in his example a wellspring of hope, faith, and zeal for the apostolic mission entrusted to us.
