Karavaloor, Kollam – 30 April 2025
With the invocation “Jeevante Vachanam” (“The Word of Life”), the Malankara Bible Orientation Camp (MBOC) 2025 commenced today at Karavaloor Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, bringing together children from the Karavaloor, Manalil, and Vilakkupara parishes for a four-day spiritual immersion.
The camp was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Renji Maniparambil, the parish priest, who presided over the solemn Bible Enthronement Ceremony, marking the beginning of the camp with reverence and devotion. The ceremony set the tone for days ahead, where the Scriptures would not simply be taught but lived, celebrated, and cherished.
The MBOC will run from 30 April to 3 May, and will be led by Br. Alan, Br. Libin, and Sr. C. Maria Rose, whose catechetical guidance, creativity, and pastoral care are helping children reflect deeply on the living Word of God.
In an unexpected but deeply appreciated moment, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mor Anthonios OIC, Bishop of the Eparchy of St. John Chrysostom, Gurgaon, visited the camp and spent time with the children—offering his blessings, sharing words of fatherly wisdom, and encouraging them to walk joyfully with Christ. Though shepherding a diocese in the northern part of India, his heartfelt presence in this Kerala village was a moving sign of episcopal love that transcends geography.
More than just a summer activity, MBOC 2025 in Karavaloor is a celebration of the Church’s mission to nurture faith at its earliest roots, forming children not only in knowledge but in discipleship, prayer, and service.
May the Word planted in these hearts flourish like a tree by living waters—ever growing, ever bearing fruit.
