On 8 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church solemnly continued the sacred observance marking the 72nd memorial feast and the centennial anniversary of the episcopal consecration of its venerable founder, Archbishop Mar Ivanios.
The day’s Holy Qurbono was celebrated with deep reverence by the Very Reverend Father Thomas Njarakkattu, Corepiscopa and Vicar General of the Muvattupuzha Diocese. His Eucharistic offering united the faithful in prayerful contemplation.
Taking as his theme “Divine Providence is Superior to Divine Service”, Rev. Fr. Thomas delivered a thoughtful and inspiring message. His words invited the faithful to reflect on the primacy of God’s grace and providence, guiding all acts of service within the Church’s mission.
Following the Holy Qurbono, the congregation gathered at the tomb of Venerable Mar Ivanios, where a solemn incense prayer was led by Rev. Fr. Thomas, enveloping the moment in sacred silence and heartfelt devotion.
The ongoing commemoration draws the Church ever closer to the memory of its holy father, urging renewal in faith and dedication to the spiritual heritage he so profoundly shaped.
