MCYM Mavelikara Diocese Annual Senate Meeting Held with Grandeur

Kadampanad: The Annual Senate Meeting of the Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM), Mavelikara Diocese, was held on Sunday, January 12, at St. George Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Kadampanad, under the hospitality of the Kadampanad Ecclesiastical District.

The event began at 1:30 PM with the hoisting of the MCYM flag by the Diocesan Animator, Rev. Sr. Nisseema SIC, symbolising the start of the meeting. The Diocesan President, Mr. Roshan Varghese, presided over the meeting, while General Secretary Mr. Jobin G. John delivered the welcome address. The MCYM Ecclesiastical President, Mr. Monu Joseph, inaugurated the event.

Highlights of the Meeting

Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Kaithavana, Director of the Mavelikara Ecclesiastical District, extended his greetings during the session. The five clergy districts presented reports on their activities over the past six months. After discussions and suggestions, Diocesan General Secretary Mr. Jobin G. John presented the diocesan report, which was approved unanimously.

The financial accounts for the same period were presented by Diocesan Treasurer Mr. Alvin Immanuel. Following organisational discussions, Joseph Varghese from the Kurthikad unit in the Mavelikara Ecclesiastical District was elected to the KCYM Senate (M) post, which had fallen vacant.

The meeting concluded with the Diocesan Treasurer formally delivering the vote of thanks. Special thanks were extended to:

• MCYM Ecclesiastical President Mr. Monu Joseph, who inaugurated the Senate meeting.

Celebrating a Visionary Leader

The Diocese also extended heartfelt wishes to Mr. Jithin Shaji Vettiyar, a former MCYM leader and current lay animator. Jithin, a technology specialist, has been instrumental in the development of the “Malankara” mobile application, inaugurated by His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, head of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. His contributions continue to inspire the youth and the faithful alike.

As the meeting concluded, it left an indelible mark on the diocesan community, reinforcing the spirit of faith, unity, and commitment among the youth of the Mavelikara Diocese.
