On 11 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church continued its solemn observance of the 15-day commemoration honouring the 72nd memorial feast and centennial anniversary of the episcopal consecration of the venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios.
The Holy Qurbono was celebrated with reverence by the Right Reverend Dr. Isaac Parappallil, Corepiscopa and Vicar General of the Thiruvalla Diocese. The liturgy included the sacred Antiochene Rite, embracing the rich heritage of the West Syriac tradition that defines our Church.
Corepiscopa Isaac delivered a thoughtful homily on the theme “Venerable Mar Ivanios and the Antiochene Worship,” inviting the faithful to reflect on the profound spirituality and ecclesial identity nurtured by our venerable father through his commitment to the Antiochene liturgical tradition.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the faithful gathered at the tomb of Venerable Mar Ivanios, where Corepiscopa Isaac Parappallil led the solemn incense prayer, a symbol of the Church’s unity in faith and devotion.
As the commemoration unfolds, the faithful remain deeply connected to the spiritual legacy of Mar Ivanios, drawing strength and inspiration from his steadfast dedication to the faith and tradition of our Church.
