On 10 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church gathered once more in solemn devotion to mark the tenth day of the sacred 15-day commemoration honouring the 72nd memorial feast and the centennial anniversary of the episcopal consecration of the venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios.
The Holy Qurbono was celebrated with reverence by the Right Reverend Father Shaji Mathews Vazhayil, Corepiscopa and Vicar General of the Pune-Kadki Diocese. His liturgical guidance brought the faithful together in prayerful reflection on the enduring virtues of our venerable father.
Father Shaji’s homily, themed “Venerable Mar Ivanios — Transforming Trials into Graces,” invited the faithful to meditate on the profound patience and steadfast grace that characterised Mar Ivanios’s life. His message illuminated how sufferings, when borne with faith, become channels of divine mercy and spiritual strength.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the faithful proceeded to the tomb of Venerable Mar Ivanios where Corepiscopa Shaji Mathew led a solemn incense prayer, symbolising the Church’s unity in gratitude and supplication.
As the commemoration approaches its final days, the Church remains deeply rooted in the legacy of Mar Ivanios, drawing inspiration from his example of endurance, faith, and divine compassion.
