Day 12 of the 72nd Memorial and Centennial of Episcopal Consecration of Venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios

On 12 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church gathered in solemn prayer to observe the twelfth day of the 15-day commemoration marking the 72nd memorial feast and centennial anniversary of the episcopal consecration of the venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios.

The Holy Qurbono was celebrated with reverence by the Right Reverend Fr. Jose Konnathuvila, Corepiscopa and Vicar General of the Parassala Diocese. His liturgical leadership once again united the faithful in prayer and reflection.

Corepiscopa Jose Konnathuvila delivered an inspiring homily centred on the theme, “Venerable Mar Ivanios and His Work for the Advancement of Women.” He invited the faithful to consider the profound commitment of our venerable father to the upliftment and empowerment of women within the Church and society.

Following the Holy Qurbono, the faithful assembled at the tomb of Venerable Mar Ivanios, where Corepiscopa Jose Konnathuvila led a solemn incense prayer. This act symbolised the Church’s collective gratitude and prayerful homage to the enduring legacy of Mar Ivanios.

As the commemoration nears its conclusion, the faithful continue to find inspiration in the vision and example of Mar Ivanios, whose life and mission remain a guiding light for the Syro Malankara Catholic Church.
