On 7 July 2025, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church continued its solemn remembrance of the 72nd memorial feast and the centennial year of episcopal consecration of the venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios. At the heart of this day’s observance was the sacred space of the Malankara Major Seminary, where the Rector, Very Reverend Father Gigi Philip Charivupurayidathil, offered the Holy Qurbono with reverence and grace.
The homily, centred on the theme “Venerable Mar Ivanios: Theological Visionary”, invited all to reflect deeply on the spiritual and theological insight that shaped Mar Ivanios’s legacy. Father Gigi Philip led the faithful through the profound dimensions of Mar Ivanios’s understanding of divine revelation and ecclesial communion, drawing a portrait of a father whose theological gaze continues to illuminate the Church’s journey.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the congregation gathered at the tomb of the venerable father, where incense prayer was solemnly offered, reinforcing the communion of saints and the continuity of faith. The sacred ceremony was enriched by the full participation of the venerable priests and seminarians of the Malankara Major Seminary, embodying the living tradition and future hope of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church.
This day, marked by quiet devotion and spiritual reflection, invited the faithful to renew their commitment to the theological richness and ecclesial mission entrusted to them by the blessed Mar Ivanios.
