Under the auspices of the Malankara Catholic Association (MCA) Parassala Ecclesiastical District Committee, a solemn memorial lecture commemorating the life and vision of Venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios was held at the Holy Cross Malankara Catholic Church, Balaramapuram, within the Thiruvananthapuram Clerical District.
The gathering, attended by over 200 faithful from the ecclesiastical districts of Kattakkada, Balaramapuram, Parassala, Neyyattinkara, and Chempoor, was marked by heartfelt reflection and spiritual nourishment. Very Reverend Dr. John Christopher Manali O.I.C., Vice Provincial of the Trivandrum Navajeevan Province, delivered the memorial address, offering profound insights into the theological and pastoral legacy of Mar Ivanios.
The spiritual atmosphere was further enriched by the presence of the District Spiritual Director, Reverend Father Thomas Pottapurayidam, and Unit Spiritual Director Reverend Father Abin Mullakal. The gathering was also honoured by the leadership of the Ecclesiastical District President, Mr. Sabish Peter, the General Secretary, Mr. Aneesh Vadakara, and esteemed members including Advocate Rajayan, Binu Balaramapuram, Brother Selvan, Mercy Pottayil, and Aneesh Pottayil.
The assembly united in prayer and reflection, seeking to embrace the life-view of Venerable Mar Ivanios as a guiding light for the MCA members and the wider Syro Malankara Catholic community. The memorial lecture emphasised the importance of living out the spirit of unity, renewal, and apostolic mission envisioned by Mar Ivanios, encouraging all present to deepen their commitment to the Church’s call in today’s world.
