Understanding the Orders
M’shamshono (Deacon)
The M’shamshono, or deacon, is a vital role within the Church, assisting bishops and priests in liturgical services, proclaiming the Gospel, and engaging in charitable works. This position signifies a deep commitment to the spiritual and community life of the Church, serving as a bridge between the clergy and the laity.
Hevupadiyakno (Sub-deacon)
The order of Hevupadiyakno, or Sub-deacon, is a major order in the Eastern rites. Sub-deacons assist the deacon and priest in the preparation of the altar and the sacred vessels. They also help in maintaining the decorum of the sanctuary during the liturgy, ensuring that the liturgical practices are carried out with precision and reverence.
M’samrono (Reader)
The order of M’samrono, or Reader, is another minor order. Readers are entrusted with the responsibility of proclaiming the Scriptures during liturgical services, except for the Gospel. This role underscores the importance of the Word of God in the life of the Church, calling the faithful to engage deeply with the Scriptures.
Significance of the Ceremony
This ordination ceremony marks a pivotal moment in the lives of the newly ordained, as they step into roles that are integral to the liturgical and spiritual life of the Church. The presence of clergy and the community highlights the collective support and encouragement for these young men as they continue their journey in service to the Church.
The Diocese of Puttur extends its heartfelt congratulations to Bro. Augustine Pulivanyoor, Bro. Savio Puthenveettil, Bro. Agnetius Ettikkal, and Bro. Samuel Cheruvila. The community prays for their continued dedication and service to the Church, looking forward to their contributions to the spiritual growth and enrichment of the faithful.
