In the gentle unfolding of a day marked by quiet rejoicing, the Syro Malankara Catholic Church embraced a singular moment of grace as it welcomed Sr. Nathalia SIC—the first indigenous Bethany Sister from the Karshahandi Mission Church in Odisha, part of the Eparchy of Gurgaon, Delhi. Her profession was not merely a ceremonial rite but a radiant testimony to the living continuity of our sacred tradition.
Amidst the sacred presence of our beloved Aboon, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mor Anthonios OIC, alongside our dedicated Sisters and Fathers, the community gathered in profound awe and gratitude. Sr. Nathalia now stands as a guiding light, a spiritual mentor woven into the very fabric of our Church’s mission—sister, mother, and beacon to the faithful who seek her gentle counsel and fervent example.
This moment, humble yet transcendent, speaks to the flowering of vocations deeply rooted in the rich soil of our Malankara heritage, extending its branches across distant lands. It calls to mind the words of the Psalmist who invites us to “sing a new song” — and indeed, Sr. Nathalia’s journey is a new melody within the symphony of our Church’s ongoing story.
The celebration also honours the tireless dedication of those who stood behind the scenes: the missionaries, the parishioners, the youth of the Malankara Catholic Youth Movement, and the villagers whose prayers and labours have borne this fruit. Their collective faithfulness manifests in this living sign of hope and renewal.
May Sr. Nathalia’s path inspire many more to embrace the call to holiness, service, and communion, ever faithful to the vision entrusted to us by our venerable fathers.
