Twin Brothers Ordained for the Gurgaon-Delhi Diocese: A Rare and Joyful Moment for the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church

On the morning of December 30, 2024, the Sacred Heart Malankara Catholic Church, Mylapra, witnessed a historic and spiritually enriching event—the ordination of Deacons Thomas Konnath and Joseph Konnath. This unique occasion, marking the ordination of twin brothers, brought together clergy, faithful, and family in a remarkable celebration of faith and vocation.

Main Celebrant and Attendees

The ordination was presided over by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mor Thomas, Bishop of the Eparchy of Bathery, who shares a familial bond with the newly ordained priests. Representing the Eparchy of Gurgaon-Delhi, where the twins will serve, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mor Anthonios OIC was also present to extend his blessings and support.

Adding to the significance of the event, His Beatitude Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, and His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Mor Irenios, Bishop of Pathanamthitta, graced the gathering. Their presence highlighted the universal and familial spirit of the Church. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Antony Mor Silvanos, Auxiliary Bishop of the Major Archiepiscopal Curia, was also in attendance, further underscoring the importance of this sacred occasion.
