Sister Selka S.I.C. of the Bethany Congregation Passes Away at 83

The Bethany Congregation in Thiruvananthapuram mourns the loss of Sister Selka S.I.C., who passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 83. Sister Selka was a devoted member of the congregation and lived a life marked by piety and dedication to the service of the church.

Her mortal remains will be brought to the Nalanchira Provincial House on the morning of April 17, 2024, at 10 AM, where the community will have an opportunity to pay their final respects. The funeral services are scheduled for the same day at 3:30 PM in the monastery cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.

Sister Selka was born into the Mangalathu family in Valakom and was a beloved sister of Rev. Fr. Agustin Mangalath and Ms. Serafin, and Ms. Parimala. Her life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to her calling, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit and charitable works.

The Malankara Syrian Catholic Church and the members of the Bethany Congregation extend their heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her. Sister Selka’s life and service have left an indelible mark on the community, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts of many.
