Pathanamthitta, 28th January 2024: The Faith Formation Office of the Pathanamthitta Diocese recently organized a Divine Mercy Congress specifically for catechism students. The event, led by the Angels Army team, was held under the auspices of the Diocesan Bishop, His Excellency Samuel Mar Irenios.
The congress commenced with the Holy Mass, celebrated by Bishop Irenios, setting a spiritual tone for the event. This was followed by a series of classes and activities designed to deepen the children’s understanding and devotion to divine mercy. Over a thousand children, along with their teachers, respected priests, and sisters, participated in this spiritual endeavour.
The program aimed at bringing the children closer to the concept of divine mercy through engaging and interactive sessions. These sessions were tailored to enlighten the young minds and nurture their spiritual growth.
The event was efficiently organized by the Diocese’s Vicar General, Venerable Varghese Mathew Kalayil Vadakethil, along with the Catechism Director, Fr. Robin Manakaleth, Fr. Jins Meppurath, Fr. Sijo James Charivuparambil, and Fr. Paul Nilackal Thekkethil. Their leadership and coordination played a significant role in the successful execution of the congress.
The Divine Mercy Congress concluded with an evening of Divine Mercy Adoration, providing a serene and reflective closure to the day’s events. This congress was not only a religious gathering but also an opportunity for the young participants to grow in faith and community spirit.
The Pathanamthitta Diocese continues to focus on enriching the spiritual lives of its younger members, ensuring they grow up with a strong foundation in their faith and values.
