Kuwait City – In a significant milestone, the Kuwait Malankara Rite Movement (KMRM), a key organization for the Malankara Catholics residing in Kuwait, recently inaugurated its Pearl Jubilee celebrations along with its Founder’s Day. This notable event, held on March 3, 2024, at the local community hall, saw the participation of approximately 300 members who gathered to celebrate three decades of KMRM’s commitment to faith and community.
The Pearl Jubilee celebration commenced with a symbolic rally featuring 10 groups, each comprising 30 members, reflecting on the three decades of KMRM’s influential presence in Kuwait. Joseph K. Daniel, the Senior Vice President of KMRM, initiated the celebration by hoisting the flag, marking the beginning of a year filled with celebratory and reflective events.
Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath Cor Episcopo graced the occasion with his presence, officially inaugurating the event. The ceremony was enriched by contributions from several key speakers, including Rev. Fr. Sojan Paul, Rev. Fr. Johnson Nedumpurath, Babuji Bathery, Binu K. John, and Rana Varghese. Each shared insights into the movement’s history, its impact on the Malankara Catholic community in Kuwait, and its vision for the future.
A highlight of the inauguration was the lighting of 30 candles, symbolizing the unity, strength, and collective spirit of the KMRM community as they embarked on this jubilant year. The event also took a moment to honour members who have spent 30 years in Kuwait, acknowledging their dedication and contributions to the growth and spiritual welfare of the community.
Rev. Fr. Sojan Paul inaugurated a membership campaign, underscoring the significance of engagement and active participation for the continued growth of the community. The Pearl Jubilee of KMRM not only celebrates the organization’s past achievements but also sets a forward-looking tone for fostering a stronger, more vibrant Malankara Catholic community in the years ahead.
