In the quiet vigour of compassionate service, Sister Sherly Mathew has emerged as a luminous presence within the healthcare community of Kuwait. A devoted member of the Esther KK Group at Arabia Matha, Sector 1, Ahmadi Area, and Assistant Head Mistress of SMCFF, Sr. Sherly has been honoured with the distinguished “Senior Outstanding Nurse – INFOK Nightingales Award 2025” by the Indian Nurses Federation of Kuwait (INFOK).
This accolade was conferred during the grand celebration of Florence Fiesta 2025, a splendid occasion marking International Nurses Day, held on 9 May at the Aspire Indian International School, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The event paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Florence Nightingale, whose spirit of selfless care continues to inspire nurses across the world.
Sr. Sherly’s recognition reflects the profound commitment and tireless dedication she brings to her vocation at Al Adan Hospital, Ahmadi Region. Her efforts resonate deeply with the Syro Malankara Catholic community, for whom service carried out with compassion and humility is the very breath of faith.
INFOK’s gathering was graced by notable dignitaries including Dr. Mustafa Al Mosawi, Head of Kuwait Organ Procurement, and the federation’s President Mr. Vijesh Velayudhan, who underscored the achievements of Indian nurses and the vital role they play in Kuwait’s healthcare landscape. The ceremony was further enriched by messages of appreciation from senior nursing officials and vibrant cultural performances that celebrated the spirit of unity and care.
Since its inception in 2015, INFOK has grown to a robust organisation of 5,000 members across Kuwait’s seven health regions. With a vision aligned to the International Nursing Council’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies,” INFOK continues to champion professional development, health awareness, and community service.
