Daughters of Mary Mourns the Loss of Rev. Sr. Mary Rosalia DM (99)

With profound sorrow, the Daughters of Mary St. Mary’s Province announces the passing of Rev. Sr. Mary Rosalia DM (99), a cherished member of the congregation since 1946. Sr. Mary Rosalia, whose life was a testament to faith, love, and service, entered eternal rest on 14 January 2025 at 9:30 PM.

Final Farewell and Funeral Arrangements

The mortal remains of Sr. Mary Rosalia will be available for public homage at the Anchal Convent tomorrow morning until 9:30 AM. Subsequently, her body will be transported to the Provincial House in Pongummoodu. The funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM under the chief celebrancy of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Mathews Mor Polycarpos, Auxiliary Bishop of the Major Archieparchy of Trivandrum.

A Life of Dedication and Service

Joining the Daughters of Mary in 1946, Sr. Mary Rosalia dedicated nearly eight decades to the service of the Lord, embodying the congregation’s charism of being “pure and poor” while contemplating and proclaiming the Word of God. Her life as a religious sister was marked by humility, simplicity, and tireless efforts in the fields of education, pastoral care, and social outreach.

A revered member of the congregation, Sr. Mary Rosalia was deeply committed to the spiritual and physical well-being of the communities she served. Her prayers and presence were a source of strength to the sisters and the faithful she encountered throughout her ministry.
