Muvattupuzha: The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church’s Muvattupuzha Diocese celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day alongside the Diocesan-level inauguration of the Global Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year celebrations. The event also marked the Patronal Feast of His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Yoohanon Mor Theodosius, Bishop of Muvattupuzha.
The celebrations were held at the St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Muvattupuzha, with a solemn Holy Qurbono led by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Yoohanon Mor Theodosius. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Abraham Mor Julios, along with diocesan clergy, concelebrated the liturgy.
Jubilee Door Opening and Lighting of the Jubilee Lamp
The festivities began with the ceremonial opening of the Jubilee Door and the lighting of the Jubilee Lamp at the Cathedral, symbolising the official inauguration of the Jubilee Year in the diocese. These acts underscored the spiritual significance of the Jubilee, inviting the faithful to embrace a year of renewal and grace.
Felicitation Ceremony
Following the Holy Qurbono, a felicitation ceremony was held, which saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries including:

- His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Abraham Mor Julios
- His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Mathews Mor Pachomios

- Mr. Eldho Abraham, Chairman of the Muvattupuzha Municipality
