Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Launch of ‘Dhanyam’ Privilege Card

On April 13, 2024, Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital marked its 65th anniversary by introducing innovative services aimed at supporting underprivileged patients. The celebration was presided over by Rev. Dr. Isaac Parappallil, the Chief Vicar General of the Thiruvalla Diocese, at a well-attended event.

A significant highlight of the anniversary was the launch of the ‘Dhanyam’ Privilege Card, a new initiative to provide medical treatments at reduced costs for economically disadvantaged patients. The card was formally presented by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Punnassery, Director of the Prathyaasha Charitable Trust, and Dr. Kurian John Melamparambil, founder of Melam Charitable Trust and recipient of the Padma Shri award.

The inauguration of the renovated OPD facilities was another key development, enhancing the hospital’s capability to serve the community more efficiently. His Grace Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos, Archbishop and Patron of the Pushpagiri Medical Society, inaugurated the new facilities and lit the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment and service the hospital aims to continue providing.

The event was attended by numerous dignitaries who extended their best wishes for the hospital’s future endeavours. Dr. Abraham Varghese, the Medical Director of Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, welcomed the guests and highlighted the hospital’s commitment to healthcare excellence and community service.

Prominent figures including Mr. M. Saleem, President of the Merchant Association & Communal Harmony Forum, Advocate Varghese Maman, District President of Kerala Congress and UDF District Committee Chairman, BJP National Committee member Prathapa Chandra Varma, and Advocate Prakash Babu, President of the Agricultural Development Bank and the Agri Horticulture Society, also graced the occasion with their presence and supportive messages.

Dr. K.V. Rajan, head of the ENT Department at Pushpagiri, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging all who contributed to the hospital’s success and renewal initiatives.
