The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) is on the brink of a vibrant transition as it welcomes its newly elected Central team for the term 2024-2025. In an enthusiastic display of democracy and unity, the youth of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church have chosen their leaders, heralding a year expected to be filled with zeal, service, and faith-driven initiatives.
Leading the charge as President is Monu Joseph from the Thiruvalla Archdiocese, whose election is a testament to the confidence and hope the youth place in his vision and leadership. Accompanying him in steering the MCYM ship is Linu Daniel from the Puttur Diocese, taking on the vital role of General Secretary. Tasked with the critical responsibility of managing finances, Renju Raju from the Mavelikkara Diocese has been entrusted with the position of Treasurer.
A trio of Vice Presidents brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the team, with Aksa Rajan from the Pathanamthitta Diocese, Christy Varghese from the Bathery Diocese, and Cyril Thomas from the Delhi-Gurgaon Diocese set to contribute their diverse perspectives and skills.
The team is further strengthened by Secretaries Bino T Gilbert representing the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, Dinesh F from the Marthandam Diocese, and Sebin Mathew from the Muvattupuzha Diocese. Their appointments underscore the pan-diocesan representation and collaborative spirit that is a hallmark of MCYM.
Bincy Thomas from the Khadki-Pune Diocese will serve on the Central Syndicate, adding her unique insights and commitment to the team’s dynamic.
Animator VC Georgekutty will provide spiritual guidance and mentorship, ensuring that the movement’s activities remain rooted in the teachings of the Church and the Gospel.
The new Central team is charged with not only continuing the legacy of MCYM’s past successes but also propelling the movement to greater heights with innovative programs and deeper engagement with the youth across the various dioceses.
