HESED 2K24 Youth Day Preparations Begin with Office Inauguration

The preparations for HESED 2K24, the Global Youth Day celebration of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, officially commenced with the inauguration of the event’s committee office. The inauguration ceremony was conducted under the leadership of His Excellency Abraham Mor Julios, Bishop Emeritus of the Muvattupuzha Diocese, who officially opened the office on behalf of the event’s organising committee.

The HESED 2K24 event, hosted by the Tiruvalla Archdiocese, aims to bring together the youth of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church from around the world. The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) central team is spearheading the initiative, which serves as a platform for empowering and uniting the youth in faith and fellowship.

In addition to His Excellency Abraham Mor Julios, the inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished clergy and MCYM leaders:

• His Excellency Joshua Mor Ignathios, Bishop of the Mavelikkara Diocese
• Monsignor Dr. Isaac Parappallil, Chief Vicar General of the Tiruvalla Archdiocese
• Rev. Fr. Mathew Punakulam, District Vicar of Tiruvalla Ecclesiastical District
• Fr. Cherian Kurisummoottil, MCYM Director of Tiruvalla Archdiocese

Key members from the Global MCYM Secretariat were also present, including:

• Monu Joseph, President of the Global MCYM
• Cyriac V. John, MCYM President of the Tiruvalla Archdiocese
• Aksa Rajan, Vice President of the Global MCYM
• Renju Raju, Global MCYM Treasurer
• Sebin Mathew and Dinesh F, Global MCYM Secretaries

The ceremony was further graced by the presence of numerous youth coordinators, animators, regional leaders, and clergy from the Tiruvalla Archdiocese and surrounding districts.
