Bathery: The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church witnessed a significant spiritual event as His Excellency Bishop Joseph Mar Thomas, the Bishop of Bathery Diocese, inaugurated a grand Bible Convention. The convention, organized by the Malankara Syriac Catholic Church, Kozhikode Region, began at the Mar Baselios English Medium School in Eengapuzha.
Spanning three days, the Bible Convention, led by Father Daniel Poovannathil, has attracted over two thousand participants, reflecting the community’s deep engagement with the scripture. The event commenced with an inspiring address by His Excellency Bishop Joseph Mar Thomas, who emphasized the importance of the Bible in nurturing faith and guiding Christian life.
The convention is being chaired by Father Thomas Mannithottathil, the Proto Vicar of the Kozhikode Region. In his welcome speech, Father Sijo Panthapallil highlighted the significance of the Bible in understanding God’s message for humanity. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Jifi Anippilly, the Secretary of the Pastor Council.
