New York, USA: During the Holy Qurbono celebrated at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elmont, on 14 July 2012 Bro. Lintu Markos and Bro. Michael Edathil were ordained Deacons. Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Exarchate in USA conferred the ordinations. Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom, Bishop of Pathanamthitta, was a concelebrant of the Divine Liturgy.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter, Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, New York and representative of Most Rev. William Murphy, the Bishop of Rockville, gave the homily. Many priests, religious and hundreds of lay faithful participated in the Divine Liturgy. At the public reception that followed the Holy Qurbono, Most Rev. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom and Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Kochery, the proto-syncellus of the Syro- Malankara Catholic Exarchate in USA felicitated the newly ordained Deacons. Representing the Deacons, Dn. Lintu Markos thanked everyone.
Deacon Lintu is the son of Mr. Mathew and Mrs. Sherly settled in Chicago. Steve is his brother. Dn. Michael is the son of Mr. Philip and Mrs. Rajamma of the Syro-Malankara Catholic parish in Philadelphia. Eilyn, Joslyn and John are his sisters and brother.
