Pope Francis has made the surprise decision to celebrate Holy Mass on Maundy Thursday in a juvenile detention center in Rome, rather than in St. Peter’s basilica. The Holy Mass on Maundy Thursday is traditionally scheduled in the Basilica of St. John Lateran.
