The first Holy Mass and inauguration of the 4th parish in Bangalore, St. Alphonsa Malankara Catholic Church, was held on 3 July 2016 at the Snehadaan Camillian Community Centre, Carmelaram, Bangalore. The con-celebration of Holy Mass was led by Very Rev. Msgr Varghese Mattamana, Vicar General of Pune Exarchate along with Rev. Fr Varghese Kadakketh, Rev. Fr Geevarghese Kaithavana, Vicar and coordinator of Carmelaram parish and four other Malankara priests from Dharmaram.
The Holy Mass and the subsequent short meeting was attended by several seminarians, Rev. Sisters and members of all the four parishes in Bangalore. Rev. Fr Varghese Kaddaketh delivered the welcome speech and Very Rev. Msgr Varghese Mattamana delivered the inaugural address in which he spoke about the history of the Malankara Catholic Community in Bangalore and proposed measures to take this new parish forward. Rev. Fr Basil Thomas, assistant vicar of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr John Aluvalla OIC and Mr. Johnson T.M felicitated the newly established parish community.
