The halls of Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram resonated with anticipation and solemn joy as the inauguration ceremony for the 2025 batch of four-year undergraduate programmes unfolded. This auspicious occasion, held under the gracious patronage of His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church, was a vivid testament to the enduring commitment to academic excellence and spiritual formation.
The event commenced with a prayer song, setting a contemplative tone that soon blossomed into a series of addresses steeped in encouragement and hope. Rev. Fr. Thomas Kayyalackal, Bursar and Vicar General of the Major Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram, extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering, invoking blessings on the students and faculty alike.

The inaugural address by His Beatitude Cardinal Cleemis illuminated the path ahead, calling upon the young minds to embrace learning as a sacred duty intertwined with the call to holiness.
Adding further depth to the ceremony, the Sub Collector of Thiruvananthapuram District, Mr Alfred O.V. Vincy Varghese, Vice Principal, and Rev. Dr. Gigi Thomas, Dean of Studies, also shared words that nurtured the scholarly and spiritual resolve of the students.
A moment of special celebration was reserved to honour Ms Nandana G.P., an illustrious alumna who achieved the remarkable distinction of securing 47th rank in the 2024 UPSC Civil Services Examination. Her achievement stands as a beacon of dedication and aspiration for the new generation stepping into these academic corridors.
The felicitation ceremony was conducted by Prof. Dr. Gladstone Raj S., Vice President of the Parent-Teacher Association, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Reny Skaria, Vice Principal and Programme Co-ordinator. The college choir’s rhythmic welcome song and a cultural programme titled ‘Dhwani’ lent an air of festivity to the proceedings.
