In a heartfelt gathering organized on 7th November at 4 pm to honour the blessed life of Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, delivered a memorial address at the Bethel Mar Thoma Parish in Panavely, Kottarakkara. Reflecting on the life and legacy of Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma, Cardinal Cleemis remembered him as a spiritual father who carried the Mar Thoma Church close to his heart with great pride and affection.

The Cardinal emphasized Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma’s remarkable qualities of steadfast wisdom, sharp intellect, and reliance on God, which distinguished him as an exceptional leader.
The Mar Thoma Church, as Cardinal Cleemis highlighted, became known for its stability and resilience under the leadership of its esteemed heads. Even during challenging times, such as the Emergency, the Church remained active and secure, shielded by leaders whose strength could not be intimidated by authority.
