On March 22, 2018, Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos inaugurated the Church Unity Conference held as part of the Bonacaud Cross-Hill Pilgrimage. Bavathirumeni said that giving the cross is a message of tolerance and sacrifice and if the pilgrimage is abandoned midway, the cross of goodness cannot be seen blossoming. Bavathirumeni said that the goodness given by God can never be foreseen and only truth will prevail.
