The Archbishop of Bombay, Cardinal Dr. Oswald Gracias, has been appointed as the president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI). Cardinal Oswald Gracias was re-elected. The new president was elected at the cbci’s biennial conference being held at St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences in Bengaluru.
Malankara Catholic Church, Mavelikkara diocese head , Dr. JOshua Mar Ignathios, has been appointed as the first vice-president of the CBCI. Mar George Naralakkatt, head of the Archdiocese of Thalassery, was re-elected as the second vice president. The term is two years.
