Trivandrum Major Archdiocese Welcomes Newly Ordained Bishop, His Excellency Mathews Mar Pachomios

The Trivandrum Major Archdiocese of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church recently extended a heartwarming welcome to the newly appointed Bishop of the St. Ephrem Khadki-Pune Diocese, His Excellency Mathews Mar Pachomios, in an event marked by communal joy and spiritual fellowship.

Gathered within the sanctity of the Ayoor St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, the reception witnessed a large assembly of the faithful, including esteemed priests, Cor Episcopas, religious sisters, deacons, and lay leaders. Advocate Jojo Abraham, representing the Pastoral Council of the Major Archdiocese, presented a commemorative token to His Excellency, a symbol of the close-knit ties and deep respect within the Church.

The Episcopal Vicar, Very Rev. Fr. Jose Kizhakkedathu, offered warm greetings on behalf of the Archdiocese, adding to the atmosphere of familial reverence for their newly anointed episcopal leader.

In a ceremonious tribute, His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, Catholicos, adorned Bishop Mar Pachomios with a garland, amidst the applause and prayers of over a thousand attendees, celebrating the unity and continuity of the Church’s mission.

His Excellency Mathews Mar Polycarpos, the Auxiliary Bishop, further honoured Bishop Mar Pachomios with a gift from the Major Archdiocese, symbolising the continued support and collaborative spirit that the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church is renowned for.
