Kadambanad, 28th January, 2024: The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) of the Kadambanad Ecclesiastical District has officially inaugurated its new office bearers for the year 2024-25. The oath-taking ceremony and leaders’ meet were held on Sunday, January 28, at the St. Mary’s Malankara Syrian Catholic Church in Thuvayoor West.

The event began with a warm welcome by the Joint Secretary of the district, Mr. Subin, followed by an introductory message from the District Director, Rev. Fr. George Kottappuram. The District Vicar, Rev. Fr. Cheriyan, extended his blessings and addressed the gathering.

Rev. Fr. George Kottappuram administered the oath to the newly appointed office bearers, marking the beginning of their term. The event was chaired by the District President, Mr. Ebin Sajeev, under whose leadership the meeting discussed the upcoming six months’ activities and plans for the district.

Bathery, 28th January 2024: The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) celebrated the inauguration of its Global Meet 2024, held at Bathery under the auspices of the Bathery Diocese on January 27 and 28, 2024. The event marked a pivotal occasion for youth leadership and church engagement within the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church.

The gathering was graced by the opening ceremony led by the venerable Thomas Mar Joseph, the Metropolitan of the Bathery Diocese. Angel Mary, the diocesan president of MCYM, chaired the meeting, which was attended by significant figures from the church’s youth community.

Pathanamthitta Diocese Celebrates Its 14th Diocesan Day and Divine Mercy Congress

Pathanamthitta: The Pathanamthitta Diocese recently marked its 14th Diocesan Day with a grand celebration of the Divine Mercy Congress, held at the Mylapra Thiruhridaya Malankara Syrian Catholic Church. The event was inaugurated by the first bishop of the diocese, His Grace Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom Metropolitan.

Prominent figures like Shalom TV Chairman Chev. Benny Punnathara, Monsignor Dr. Johnson Kaimalayil Corepiscopa, Father Binoj Karimaruthinkal, and Father Joel Povvath led various sessions during the congress. Reverend Sister Amala DM of the Daughters of Mary Passes Away at 86

Marthandam, 25th January 2024: With profound sadness and hope in the Resurrection, the St. Joseph’s Province of the Daughters of Mary announces the passing of Reverend Sister Amala DM, at the age of 86. A dedicated servant of God and a member of the 1964 batch, Sister Amala was a beacon of light and guidance throughout her distinguished service in the religious community.

The funeral service is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, January 26, 2024, at 5 pm at the Marthandam Provincial House. The solemn rites of farewell will be presided over by His Excellency Most Rev. Vincent Mar Paulos, Bishop of the Diocese of Marthandam. The Diocese invites the faithful to come together to bid a heartfelt farewell to a soul who has spent a lifetime in the service of the Lord and the Church.
